Advertisers want you to feel that the best people (the young, rich, handsome, beautiful and healthy) smoke his brand. So if you want to be young, rich, handsome, beautiful and healthy you’d better smoke the advertised brand, too.

“Wait!” you tell him. “I’m smoking one of your other brands! An hour ago you showed me that I could be young, rich, handsome and healthy if I smoked ZanaDoos. Now you want me to switch to WakaDoos. That isn’t fair!”

Nowadays you can find many products that help people stop smoking. While these products may look convincing to the inexperienced eye, the truth is some work, but most don’t. Many people don’t realize that sometimes the best way to quit smoking is by using natural ways.

Here’s a list of proven natural ways to give up smoking for good:

1. Support Groups

A support group can be the most natural way people can find to help them quit anything really, not just smoking. Anyone from family to close friends can be part of this support group, people who have the same problem you have or people who had the problem in the past and are now “cured.”

New drive to help quit smoking

Health chiefs in the part of Scotland with the highest smoking rate launched a new service to help people quit the habit.

The smoking rate in the NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde area is currently 30% - the highest proportion in the country.

And with some 280,000 smokers living within the health board’s boundaries, NHS bosses are taking action.

Counseling, Patches Up Smoking Quit Rates

Increasing Quitline smoking cessation services and offering free nicotine patches are a cost-effective way to reduce smoking rates, two U.S. studies found.

One study found the number of callers to the Oregon Tobacco Quitline jumped from 6,426 to 13,646 annually, and their quit rates nearly doubled, when the state of Oregon promoted Quitline services by combining one 30-minute telephone counseling session with a free two-week supply of Nicotine Replacement Therapy, or NRT.

Record Numbers of People Want to Stop Smoking

According to the world news, record numbers of people are wanting to quit smoking around the world. Belgium, the U.K., and even China (home to over 350 million smokers) have noticed a spike in the number of stop smoking products being purchased.

This is encouraging. Did you know that about 3 million people die from smoking-related illnesses in China each year? That makes the 400,000 U.S. deaths seem small. But even one death is too many when it could have been prevented.

With new stop smoking products coming out every year, there has never been a time in which it has been easier to quit smoking.

Of all the different products, hypnosis seems to be very effective. You might consider giving that a try if you are having a hard time quitting.
